Tree Removal

The Lexington Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Removal and trimming of trees at various scattered sites for the Lexington Housing Authority in Lexington Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Caileen Foley, Executive Director.
The Project consists of: Removing, pruning and trimming trees at 16 of our developments: Countryside Village (elderly/disabled complex) and 15 single family homes (throughout Lexington, MA). There are approximately 140 trees to be removed and/or trimmed. They consist of pine, maple, oak and other various trees indigenous to the area.
The work is estimated to cost $ 125,000.00

Bids are subject to Federal Requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 [12 U.S.C. 1701 u and 24 CFR Part 135], all applicable 24 CFR Requirements, and to Davis-Bacon Wage Rates as determined by the US Department of Labor. Bids are also subject to M.G.L. c.30B §5 & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 §§26 to 27H inclusive. Where state and federal wage rates differ, the higher rate will apply to the project.

General Bids will be received until 10:00am, Thursday, June 21, 2018 and publicly opened online, forthwith.

This project is being Electronically Bid (E-Bid). All bids shall be submitted online at www.Projectdog.com. Hard copy bids will not be accepted by the Awarding Authority. General bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Lexington Housing Authority.

Go to www.Projectdog.com and login with an existing account or click Sign Up to register for free. Enter Project Code 825920 in the project locator box. Select “Acquire Documents” to download documents, review a hard copy at Projectdog’s physical location, or request a free project CD.

Bidders may obtain one full paper bid set from Projectdog for a refundable deposit of $50.00 made payable to Projectdog in the form of certified check or money order. The full amount of the deposit will be refunded to all responsive bidders returning the Contract Documents in good condition within ten (10) days after date of general bid opening. Otherwise, the deposit will become the property of Projectdog, Inc. Bidders requesting their refundable paper set to be mailed must supply a non-refundable shipping and handling fee of $40.00 payable to Projectdog.

The job sites and/or existing building will be available for inspection at 10 A.M. on Monday June 11, 2018. Site tour will begin at 1 Countryside Village and continue to the scattered sites.
